Fun with friends

We went to Galveston (again) with some friends last week. We got to the beach and let the kids play. Saige and Lilah played out in the water almost the entire time. Reese spent some time in the water and some time digging in the sand with Claire. They all really enjoyed themselves. I didn't reapply sunscreen and the girls got burned (oops!). I felt horrible!

Later we checked into Moody Gardens and went to their pool area, which is awesome! The girls got to do water slides, lazy river, wave pool and the pool. It was a blast. We got all cleaned up and went to dinner. Then we had ice cream outside while listening to a band play music. The kids enjoyed listening to the music and dancing. They were so cute!

We ALLLLLL slept in the same room. Saige ended up in bed with me and had a rough night. She was tired, burned and not in her own bed. She woke up a lot. Reese slept like a ton of bricks and sweet Noah didn't make a peep! We had lunch and went to Murdocks on the way out. The girls were wiped out!

When we got home we took naps and then went to Judah's awesome birthday party! I made the girls wear these swim shirts to protect their shoulders from the sun and they were not happy about it at first. They said "I don't want to look like a boy!!" But after some convincing them the shirts were cool they agreed to wear them. Yay!

And we went to zoo with some friends that we've know since Reese was a baby this week. I took some pictures of Reese feeding a giraffe. Saige did it too but I helped her because she was nervous. (I don't blame her!)

We are so blessed with so many wonderful friends!

Big girl time

If you look close at this picture Saige is sleeping here with a paci.

A few weeks ago we bagged up her paci's and gave them to a neighbor who has a baby. She was very proud that day but when bed time rolled around she wasn't having it. I didn't feel like fighting it so I went ahead and gave her the one last paci I had left.

We went to the dentist this week and he mentioned two problems with her bite and kindly mentioned the sooner she "kicks the habit" the faster her teeth might shift back into place. I decided right then and there we needed to bite the bullet and do it. We had bible study that night and went to Galveston the following so we couldn't those nights.

Today we were back to normal so I told her it was time to trash the one last paci. She said she wanted to give it to a baby. We walked across the street to give another paci to our neighbor with a baby girl. Sadly they weren't home. I stood in their yard frozen and not sure what to do. I said, let's give them to this neighbor (pointing to a house with no babies) and she looks at me and says "why?" She sure is smart! Then I thought of another neighbor who is expecting a sweet baby boy. She was excited about it but then said "but she's having a boy", while looking at her PINK paci. Nothing gets by her! I talked her into it anyway and we walked down and did it.
She was very proud of herself.

Come bedtime she was having a hard time falling asleep. I don't think she knew what to do with her mouth. :) She used it to talk talk talk at bedtime. Finally after some fussing (no tears) she calmed down some. She started saying "mommy mommy mommy" again so Aaron went in. She never wants him to lay with her so we thought this might be easier. He said she told him "I'm tired Daddy" and he told her to go to sleep. He said she was moving her mouth/lips in a funny way while trying to sleep. Poor thing! But she's asleep now-no tears, no paci. Go Saige!!!!!

We have no rocking chair, no diapers, no crib and now no paci. I really really don't have a baby or any evidence of one. (sniff sniff)

We promised her a treat for being a big girl and she has requested a bikini and some skittles. She cracks us up!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saige did great! She woke up once with some whining and I went in to rub her back. She went back to sleep quickly! We are now paci free (WOO HOO) and she has a two piece.
Winnie the Pooh
Aaron wanted to take the girls to see the new Winnie the Pooh movie on Sunday. I was suppose to go but wasn't feeling well so I stayed home. When he got back he told me the girls had a good time. Then he tells me that Saige said she had to poop so they left the movie to find the restrooms. Aaron didn't see a family restroom and didn't want to take Saige and Reese into the men's restroom so he sent them in the girls ...ALONE! He was standing outside the restroom waiting for the girls to come out when he heard Saige shouting "I need you to wipe me!" She has a very loud voice and Aaron said people standing nearby were all laughing. When Reese came out to tell him what was going on he tried to get her to wipe Saige but she wouldn't. I don't blame her. It's not a fun job! :) An older women was entering the restroom when Aaron asked her to please check on his two little girls. This sweet sweet women wiped my daughters bottom and then washed and dried their hands.
I was in complete shock that Aaron asked someone else to do such a big task AND that Saige even let her come in there and wipe her! I mean, she had never met this person but apparently didn't care!
I'm thankful that a stranger went in and helped Aaron (and Saige out) but I think we might need to talk to Saige about strangers. LOL!
Low Key
We have been not been busy lately and it has been so nice!
We have hit the library for books and computer time. It was a hit. You would of thought the girls were going to Disney World when I mentioned taking them to the library. We will be making this a weekly trip for sure. The girls have loved having new books to read.
We also have been watching a tv show together as a family. We watch America's Got Talent. It has been fun. The girls love watching the singing, dancing, and whatever else people come up with. I love having a show we can all watch together. We all climbed into my bed last night with covers and jammies on and it.
We have been going to chick fil a's free "play day" for face painting, balloon animals, story time and of course our friends the Bowles. Each week is a different theme for the stories and characters that come.
I have been doing little things for Saige's room lately trying to get it all finished. I have some picture frames to hang, a birdcage to paint and hang and a small birdhouse to paint and mod podge. Can't wait til it's all done. Here are two birdhouse I did on my own.
And we have been playing outside some too-when we can handle it. It has been SO hot that unless you go outside when it's dark at 9pm or stay in the water you just can't. I'm SO ready for some cooler weather. I'd even take the 80s.
And here are the diva's when I told them to get ready to go to Target. They jumped up put on a headband, purses, babies, necklaces. It was so funny! And yes, I took them to Target this way. :) I love having little girls.
We are going to try and enjoy our low key summer :)
Happy 4th!
Sweet Reese
We took the girls to a park nearby and they have so much fun showing Daddy where a snake had been (a while back) and then we walked through some trees.
This is Reese's new way to wear her hair-side ponytail with a hat. Isn't she too sweet?
And one of my girls loving on each other.
We ended our day swimming with some friends. Felt weird not to hear fireworks going off all night but also nice.
The dogs
I have a new fun APP that I downloaded and was playing around with it the other day. We took the dogs to the park to run and play. They are so sweet and sadly so neglected since the girls have been born. They used to get groomed once a month, doggie daycare and walked daily. Now they are lucky if I remember to feed them...KIDDING (sort of!)
My little artist
Reese drew this and I just adore it. She said it was a picture of "Spring" and she made a frame around it.
Saige said she stayed in the lines. She NEVER colors or draws anything so this is new :)!
