Its christmas time

We've never really decorated outside for Christmas. I use to work, Aaron was working and it was more hassle than it was worth. Then the last couple of years our neighbor decorated our house. Yes, you read that right. The older lady next door would put lights in our yard and around our tree and would put a GIANT Santa in our yard. It was actually an old hot air balloon that she would use for a blow up decoration. Massive doesn't explain it. Heres a picture...(and thats our sweet neighbor and Reese when they were tiny)

But this year we decided to do some of our own decorations. We put some colored lights in the bushes. The white lights were all sold out but now I think I like the colored. They are different from what everyone else uses. We also got some (smaller) blow up things ourselves. The girls love it. I think (tomorrow??) we might do some lights ON the house. We'll see how Aaron feels about that :)

Heres some pictures of our sweet girls.

We also put up our tree. It still needs a lot of work. I was going to buy some more balls and special things for it but the girls are both sick. So far it just has balls and bows on it. Heres some pictures of the girls by the tree.

Thanksgiving and sickness

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Everyone came here and there was a lot of great food. Poor Reese woke up Wednesday afternoon with a fever. I called everyone but no one wanted to cancel. Reese had a cough and a fever. She acted fine though?? She slept in our bed for 2 nights coughing and sniffling right on me. The first night she looked at me and said "I think something is wrong with me nose." So cute and sad! LOL

Thursday night Saige woke up coughing and burning up. She came to our bed also but wouldn't stop bothering Reese. Reese turned to Aaron and asked to "please go read books in her room". She was DONE with Saige bothering her (haha). Saiges fever and cough were a lot worse though so we took her to the doctor. Thankfully it wasn't in her lungs or anything scary. Just a nasty cold and cough.

I'm glad it happened THIS weekend though...nothing better ruin my polar express day! :)

Corn prints

We did a little craft the other day called corn prints. It was fun but it didn't hold the girls interest long. Saige was trying to eat the paint and Reese just liked getting her dirty. But it was something to do at home I guess. :)

And I asked Reese to say "cheese" and she gave me this dramatic head pose.

Thanksgiving Feast

Heres a couple of pictures of Reese at school for her Thanksgiving feast. They came in and sang us a song. And later they sat down and said their prayers and got to eat together.

BAD Zhue zhue pet

We went to my sisters friends house. She stalked up on them since they are the "hot item" this year. Apparently these things go for 40-50 dollars and they were orginally 9.00! Anyway she gave Reese and Saige one...its a little hamster incase you were wondering. Well it has wheels that make it "walk". It goes off very easily and doesn't have an offically "off" button. Well Reese was playing with it and put it on Karas head so it could walk on her (?? I guess?? haha) and the wheels went off and got caught in her hair. We couldn't get it to stop so we had to CUT it out.

I thought we could be careful and watch but Saige got it caught in her hair while in the HEB shopping cart. She was screaming and a manager had to cut it out with a box cutter :( I was so mad at that toy that I threw them in the trash right away. The "hot" toy of the year is dangerous!!!!!!!!!!

Lipstick

Reese is obsessed with lipstick. She wants to wear it all day. We are letting her put on lipgloss. She will puker her lips and then sort of talks funny because she doesn't want to mess it up. Such a diva! Where did this come from? I'm lucky to get out of the house with my hair brushed. Looks like the teen years might be interesting! haha

Zoo

We went to the zoo yesterday with some friends. Saige and Reese were both so excited to see all the animals. We got so lucky because the lion was awake and walked right up the glass. It was a little freaky to be honest but we got a close up view of him. The girls would get out of the wagon and stand on the small fence to get a better look. Well when we were looking at the giraffes Saige and Reese were both standing on the fence. Behind the fence was some soft bushes and then the big glass?? container type of thing for the giraffes. Saige leaned in too far and flipped (like a summersault?) into the bushes. I tried to catch her but it happened so fast. It was so scary but she was fine. Not a scratch, not one tear, nothing. Shes such a strong little girl!

Dancing Queen(s)

Reese lives in costume. I mean 24/7. Saige has started noticing and has decided that dressing up must be fun. She will bring me hats, shoes, tutu's, or a dress and say "wear it mom." It is the cutest thing ever. Last night Reese put on this dress and Saige got so mad. She said "MY RELLA" but Reese found her some other things to wear so she was happy. Then the girls started dancing together when they were all dressed up. Aren't they pretty?!

Its an...

...elephant!!!!!!!!

We were drawing pictures to go with letters to learn our sounds. I drew an elephant for the letter e and Reese wanted to try. She first drew the body (the big circle) the trunk (the line coming off of the body to the side) the ear (smaller circle inside the bigger circle) and then the legs (there are like 6). This is the first time she has ever made something that looks like a real picture and not the typical toddler scribbles. I was so proud of her...only a mom!

Disney Days at school

Reese's school does something called "Disney Days". Its their halloween celebration (I think?) without really DOING Halloween. The kids go to school and have different stations they go through. Each station is themed towards something Disney. They had a big whale from Pinocchio, had cars to "drive" from the movie Cars, had a dress up station with princess dresses and pirate stuff for boys and so on. I worked at the snack table and the Royal court (princess dress up). When Reese walked in she hugged me but then went to play and dress up. She asked the other mom there to help her with clothes and didn't seem to care ONE bit that I was there. I was glad though. Some little ones were crying because they saw their moms and didn't understand why they couldn't go with them. It was a lot of fun. I love her school!

Dance class

This morning I told Reese that we had dance tonight and she said "I don't want to go to Miss Robin's dance class. I want to go to Miss Margo's dance class" Miss Robin's class was the stuffy, boring, no fun class that we switched from. I thought it was really funny that she knew which class she wanted to go to. She had a lot of fun dancing tonight too. Of course, since shes new she is still learning but its just adorable to watch. As we were going home ALL Reese talked about was her teacher...the color of her hair, the color of her shirt, what shes doing now, etc etc.

On a different, not as cute note Saige was the biggest toot tonight during class. She was running all over the studio and just about made me break a sweat. One minute I turned my back and she was standing on their welcome table that has all kinds of papers, pens and a flower thing I think? Anyway, it was NONE stop. Nothing made her happy. I don't know what to do with this child. I'm blaming it on the full moon.

Kindermusik Halloween

Saige and I go to kindermusik on Thursday mornings. She really loves it. Shes totally that kid who stands while we're suppose to be sitting or she runs around being so cute and making everyone laugh. Shes a big ham! Last Thursday in kindermusik we were able to wear our costumes and have "Halloween" themed day with fun songs and music.

Heres a picture of her playing sticks.

Hallowen

We had so much fun with the girls. Reese had it down great this year. She went right up with her bucket and said "trick or treat" Saige loved going door to door and putting HER hand in THEIR candy bowl to get what SHE wanted. Everyone LOVED her costume and how cute she looked. After a while the girls got tired and we put them in the wagon. They enjoyed eating candy while mom and dad carried them through the neighborhood. The girls were very tired by the time we got home (8:15)but we had a blast. I'm going on a candy/cupcake/sweet strike for a good month though haha!!

Halloween Block Party

Our sweet neighbor Shelly had a little pre-halloween party at her house. Everyone brought something yummy to eat and Shelly & Bret provided the hot dogs and hamburgers. The kids ran around in their costumes and we all had a great time. Reese showed up to the party as Ariel-wig, make up, shoes and all but after an hour or so in a wig she was done. She decided she wanted to be Cinderella so we went home and changed her costume. Her hair is a little messy looking in the bun because we were prepared for the costume change but we went with it. Saige was also a princess since she hates the puppy costume but while playing at shelly's she spilt water all over it and we had her wear the puppy one. She kicked and screamed but after getting it on we quickly gave her a sucker and she was a happy girl. Heres a few pictures.
