As Pretty as a Picture

A few weeks ago we went to a bunny mini session with my sweet high school friend Maggie Phillips (http://www.maggiephillipsstudios.com/). She took some tutu pictures of my girls in August and I loved her work! We were VERY spoiled because she went over our time a bit and got some fun shots of the girls. Reese was (unsurprisingly) in LOVE with the baby bunnies. Lots of holding, petting and cuddling went on there. Saige liked them at first but their little nails touched her and she flipped. She wanted those bunnies no where near her. Then, trying to get a picture of Saige was pretty hard! She would make grumpy faces, not sit still, hide her smile from us???, and just being silly. We were told "no" several times but thanks to Maggies talent we got a few of that little stinker.

Here are the "out takes" Saige has SO much personality...

And some of the cute ones...

I can pedal!!

Oops! Not getting mother of the year...

Friday we went to target to buy a brownie mix. I promised the girls they could help me make brownies. Reese was thrilled to say the least. She loves to bake but also loves to eat brownies. (Is it sad that I consider box brownies baking? hmmm...) Anyway, off we went, got the brownies and came home to cook them. I took the girls out of their seats and Reese ran inside.I noticed a neighbor driving by and waved hello. I thought Saige was right behind her so I grabbed my bags and headed in, hitting the garage door button when I went inside. I was getting everything out of the bags when my doorbell rang. I could see through the door that it was my neighbor who had just driven by and she had a small child with her...I assumed it was HER child. I opened the door to see SAIGE standing outside with her. I almost died. Apparently, I shut the door to the garage leaving Saige in the front yard all alone. Thankfully my neighbor saw the whole thing happen and came to get her right away. She said she asked Saige where mommy was and she just calmly said "inside" as if being two and outside alone was perfectly normal.

Currently...

Saige has to have every single thing pink. EVERYthing from shoes to panties to headbands and paci's. If her plate isn't pink she throws a fit. It is rather humorous to be honest. Reese likes pink but Saige has taken her love for the color to a new level.

Saige is so into be a little mommy that it just melts my heart. I think she has pretty much breathed life into baby Abby. She talks to her, changes her, feeds her and so on. She would LOVE a little sister but that is NOT happening here! :)

The girls BOTH talk 90 to nothing and ask a million questions a day. It is so cute but really exhausting. I know I am getting a pay back on this one. But to me it shows how smart they are and how much their little minds are working. They are doing it to random strangers and friends. I don't know if they other people find it as cute as we do. I sometimes wonder when we leave if people are glad to see us go since the girls talk talk talk talk talk all day long. I feel like they are being wild with all the talk and question asking but then I remember that they are two and four and this will be over soon. Aaron reminds me of that often. I'm so thankful for his patience towards them.

The girls also have discovered the IPAD! We downloaded a few apps on it and they LOVE it. They would seriously spend hours on that thing. Aaron usually lets them play it when he gets home. I sometimes get it out if I want to vacuum or cook dinner without them at my feet. I need to find some educational apps for it and then I won't feel as bad. Right now they are playing with cupcakes, squishing bugs and making princesses. HA!

Reese still plays with animals most of the time. She has a million dolls and barbies but she always returns to her herd of elephants, rhinos or stuffed animals. We recently went to a build a bear birthday party and I think she thought she had died and went to heaven.

Houston Livestock Show!

We skipped school again today. The girls never miss from being sick so I figured it didn't matter. We got there EARLY! We were able to get to ride the horses, see the birthing center, and the petting zoo ALL without a line. We've always had to skip the birthing center bc the lines are so horrible. It was really fun to see the tiny animals (and a little gross since some had JUST been born...if ya know what I mean) But I must admit the tiny pigs were my favorite. I wanted to hold one SO bad!

While we were outside trying to find a place to eat the girls started dancing to the music. This women came over and said they were doing random acts of kindness and gave my girls two cowgirl hats! The hats had little "texas" pins on them. Of course it was really windy so they kept falling off so we held them the entire time!

We rode some rides with the girls this year and they had a blast. Reese was more into the rides than Saige was. They did the "Golith Slide" and their faces were PRICELESS! The girls looked beyond scared. I was really surprised they climbed the stairs all the way to the top w/o help. The kind carnival dude wouldn't let me help saige :( When Saige got up to the top the man tried to sit her in the green slide and she kept moving herself over to the pink. HA! He lost. He eventually let her go down the pink slide. EVERYTHING with her must be pink! She even cried and refused on ride because the pink car was taken.????

Daddy was the hero of the day! He did a duck ring toss and won!! Reese had her choice between a dog or a snake/dragon thing? She wanted the dragon. She always surprises me.

Reese did the eruo ball. We were shocked she wanted to so we let her. It was a large pool of water (not deep) and the kids got into a big bubble and bounced around. Reese had a smile on her face the entire time! Saige was very sad because it was for 4 and up. She really wanted to try.

Here is a picture of the girls in the little "farmer" area. We've also skipped this in the past because of the LONG lines.

The narrow road

This is the conversation I hear on the way to dance last week in the backseat.

Reese: If you love Jesus you will go to heaven and see a gold road and be a princess. Do you love Jesus Saige?
Saige: Yes. I love Him.
Reese: Well, if you don't love Jesus with your heart you will go to HELL and Saige, it is a scary place. There are PIRATES there Saige!!!!!
Saige: (silent) LOL!

Dads and Donuts

The girls school had Dads and Donuts at their school last week. They were SO excited! They were bouncing OFF the walls all morning long. I did not go but I heard that they played a game in Reese's class where the kids told the teachers what their dads did for a living and the other kids/dads guessed who it was. Hope they made sense? Anyway, when they got to Aaron, Reese's description was "he feeds people and plays with lobsters all day." Too precious! And very true!
