I'm going to do my best to my sense of these pictures.
Day one we went to Paris. We stayed in a cute hotel. We were pretty jet lagged but we pushed through.
This is the view outside our hotel from Paris and a few views of the hotel.
Views around Paris. I love the buildings.
This is Nortre Dame in Paris.
We then jetted in a cab over to the Eiffel Tower. The line was so long that we opted not to visit the top.
This is the top of Montmartre. It was beautiful.
We found a little café to eat a sandwich and have some wine with Norte Dame in view. People watching was great. We ate fries and goat cheese sandwich. Yum!
Love Lock Bridge in Paris
You can see the Eiffel Tower from our hotel.
Staircase in hotel
Dinner out. We were escorted around by the Courvoisier group. We went to two hotels in Paris to have a drink and finally had a fantastic dinner. Trying to order food when we can't read the menu is fun.
The following day (DAY TWO) we took a train for three hours to Jarnac France. It's the home of Courvoisier.
We quickly dropped our bags off at their hotel and took off to all their vineyards and farms.
This is the bridge and pond that sits outside the hotel.
View from our room.
This was our lunch. Every meal was here. Most we were seated. It felt so fancy!
Vineyards
The tastings. I'll be honest, I couldn't drink it.
This was the hotel. I loved it.
Day THREE ... We went to the barrel, glass and bottling factories.
These are bullets found in old French Oak trees from previous wars.
We walked through the village to the very old cellar.
The way back we took a train and needed to make a connection. We missed the connection and ended up sleeping in a Euro Disney hotel. It wasn't as nice as I would expect and I accidently blew the fuse in our room (and maybe a few others??) from my flat iron. Oopsie.
But on Day 4 we arrive in Southern Rhone. Beautiful doesn't describe it. This is the home of one of the Perrin Family (brothers). They have more land than I can comprehend.
Bottling factory for Perrin Vineyards.
Finally getting to taste the wine. It was wonderful!!!!
After we got the grand tour of all of their land and vineyards and had our tasting. We got to eat at the Perrin restaurant. Best meal of my life. Food just kept coming and coming. We ate with Marc Perrin (the owner) and had a great time.
More later...
