Baking

I was a little sad the other day reading about a sweet baby that is not winning her battle with cancer and what better way to help the blues than brownies. I let the girls stir, add ingredients, lick the spoons and bowls. It was so much fun! I was pretty good staying away from them (I'm not eating sweets for 6 weeks...one left!) But the best part was when I turned my back to clean or something-who knows, I turned around to find the girls in the chocolate. They were eating the powder as fast as they could. It was so funny! Instead of getting upset with my 3 year old who I know got it down I just took pictures. This is what its all about anyway right?!

Asking for forgiveness

When Saige or Reese hurt each other (bite, hit, push, pinch...yep we do it all here) they have to sit in time out and then tell the other person they are sorry. We are also trying to teach Reese about forgiveness. She is to say "I forgive you" (shes usually Saige's victim ...poor girl) Well the other night during prayers I thought it was a good time to teach her how to ask Jesus for forgiveness when we make a mistake. We were talking about it again today she said "If I bite Saige I have to tell Jesus I'm sorry and then he eats steak" hahah. I love this age!!

Outside fun!

It was BEAUTIFUL here today! Nice and warm. Perfect. We went outside and played. Reese is in this animal phase. She roars like a lion, LICKS us, crawls on the floor. The other day she ripped off her panties and said "I'm a baby lion now". I don't know why baby lions would be naked but apparently they are. LOL!!!

Anyway, the girls took some animals outside and played in the "jungle" for a while. Then they fed the fake dog dirt and leaves. Then we started hide n seek. Saige counts 1,2, 7, 13, here I come!!! So cute!

Valentines Day Party

Poor Reese was sick for her Valentines Day party. She woke up throwing up around 430 that morning and so she missed school. She acted totally fine though and then threw up again the next day. It was a LONG weekend. Aaron went to drop off the juice boxes and we got her Valentines box and goodies. Luckily there wasn't much candy! :)

Trying

The other day our sweet friends Aimee, Judah, Caanan came over to play. When Reese woke up that morning I told her they were coming. As I was picking up some after breakfast she came running to me with her pink princess dress and said "I need to wear this so I'll be beautiful for the boys" As cute as that seems it made me sad. Its ALREADY starting. I tried (poorly) to explain that its nice to look beautiful on the outside but what really matters is if you have a beautiful heart. I tried (again poorly) to explain what that means and she said "ok mommy" and ran off in her dress. I could hear her talking to Saige and she said "Saige don't I look beautiful and I have a heart in my tummy"

I guess I get an "E" for effort for trying?

Another similar story...
this morning on our way to get dressed and out the door by 9 I lost my patience. I yelled at Reese. Getting in the car she said "Please don't yell again mommy" and I told her that I was sorry and asked if she forgave me. She said yes I do. I tried to tell her that its important to forgive people when they say they are sorry and love them with all our heart. She turned to Saige and said "Do you forgive" and Saige answered with a grumpy NO. Reese told her "Its ok Saige, we'll buy more forgiveness at the store" hahaha. Wouldn't it be nice if we could get that at the store. I'd buy extra for sure.

Seriously these life lessons are HARD!

Reese's bed

This is what my daughter needs to go to sleep. ALL of her animals, about 5-10 random books, random bedroom decore (these little butterfly picture holder), her pillows and some princess dolls.

Museum Fun

Amanda and I have been doing to the Childrens Museum and to eat at Aarons restaurant since the "babies" were 9 months old. Now they are the ripe old age of 3 1/2 and we both have another one here. We had so much fun catching up watching the kids play. The museum has been redone so there was a new vet clinc (that my animal loving child LOVED) and an art center and a restaurant-just like daddys. When it was time to go Reese was not a happy camper but went with the flow.

When we got there the kids were perfect!!! Aaron showed Reese and Patrick the lobsters and he wanted NO part of it. His little heart was racing so fast. Poor thing!

Acorn

Today Reese told my sister her butt hurt. Kara asked why and she said there must be an acorn up there. Of course, why not? I mean, that happens to everyone right?!

Gotta love it!
