Cell Phone dump

My friend has kept Saige for a few Wednesdays because of Reese being sick. They got their ballet and tap costumes for recital. Then she treated them to lunch. Such cuties!!!

 

We spent some time at the park on Saturday, just me and the girls. fun! They love feeding the ducks.

This is a bunny picture Reese (on the left) and Saige (on the right) drew. If you look closely at Saige's you can see eye's, nose, mouth, ears. It's the first time (at almost 4 years old) that she has drawn a picture of something. Go Saige!

 We are serious about playing babies over here. It's like a daycare. :)

Gymnastics Show (and pneumonia)

Reese had this on and off fever for almost two weeks. It would come at 101-102 and then go away after a few days and be gone for 4 days and then come back. Long story short (and a chest x-rays, bloodwork, and urine test) she had "walking" pneumonia. We were going to her gymnastics recital thingy but that idea got squashed. So, while we were out of town for the MS 150 my mom got to take her to it. She was very excited to still get the chance to go. Here are a few pictures my mom so kindly took. Reese was OVER the moon to get a trophy. She just loves gymnastics!!

The ride

Here are some pictures of us getting up at 3:45 AM to get to the stadium. We made shirts to wear :)

We tried to follow the bikers to each rest stop but after a few problems we decided that wasn't safe for them OR us so we went to the lunch spot in Belville. Later we went to La Grange and watched them ride in. This was the ending point for the day. I believe they rode 85ish miles that day. The fair grounds were set up with tents, food, people, dogs. Lots of fun.

We then went to hotels to spend the night. I had tire issues and had to leave my car. I rode with a friend the rest of the time. (STRESS) We met the guys back at the second day lunch spot in Bastdrop. It was pretty crowded. This is what we did a lot of while waiting for the guys to ride in :)

And then we went on to Austin to wait at the finish line.

After the ride we all gathered for more pictures, talking, and a prayer. It was an awesome time and we are so proud of the guys!

MS 150 Celebration Dinner

The night before the big ride we had a dinner in honor of our husbands. Most of the kiddos (we have 16 all together in our group) weren't going to make the trip because it was a lot of driving and a lot of waiting, so we wanted to gave a way for them to be apart of the ride. The guys like to "carb load" before the ride so we threw them a pasta dinner. Salad, lasagna, chicken spaghetti, ziti, bread,mini pizza's rolls, cookie cake YUM! We even played a game :) It was a lot of fun.

Swim Lessons

I put the girls in swim lessons for two weeks. It has been good but very tiring going every day. It's in the middle of the day and in Katy so it takes thoughtful planning (snacks, clothes packing if we're somewhere before...things like that).

Reese has done great. She is starting to making big arm strokes when swimming, learning to dive, things like that. She really enjoys going and I can see growth in this short time.

Saige is also growing a lot as a "swimmer." I was planning on her being able to swim without floaties after these every day two week lessons but it doesn't look as though that will happen. She was very afraid of putting her face in the water and going under. So day 1, 2 and 3 she learned float on her back. Day 4 and 5 he started making them put their face in and go under. Girlfriend got SCARED. Bless her heart she screamed and kicked and told her coach no. But he pushed her and now she isn't scared anymore. See, growth :) He is the sweetest young man too. I can tell he is giving Saige extra sweet care. He even kissed the top of her head one lesson. She likes her coach and so do I.

And many days this is how we look driving home. VERY tired!!!

Kindergarten Perspective

Well, Reese is registered for school. It was very crowded but we did it. I thought I'd be sad but walking back into a school was fun (for me anyway) and I am excited about the things she'll learn and do. Remind me of this on that first day when she's gone for SO long.

 I made an appointment for a school tour for her to see the school. She has never set foot in an elementary school so I thought it might be fun for her to see the cafateria, art room, classrooms etc. We have had some funny conversations about school building up to the tour.

 Here are a few...
Me: Reese we have that school tour tomorrow.
Reese: So they can show me my toys?
Me: No, you won't have toys in kindergarten. You'll be there to learn but the learning will be fun. Reese: Where will I do opening? (At her prek they have "opening" where they sing, pray, etc)
Me: You won't do opening either but you will say the pledge but in your classroom. You get to sing but that's in music class.
Reese: Where will I learn about God?
Me: Oh sweety you won't learn about God at school but we'll keeping learning about God at home and church.
  Reese: Why? Because people in kindergarten don't love God?
Me: Well, I don't know but it's a rule that you don't learn about God in school but you can still pray in school by yourself and you can talk to your friends about God.

Bless her heart! Another one today...

Reese: What will I do in school?
me: (I explained subjects...) oh and there's a science room with little animals like turtles.
Reese: And elephants and zebra's??
me: No baby, it's not a zoo. There will be hamsters and frogs. Little things
Reese: so not aligators or lions? Even if they're caged?
Me: No, just little things. (and I just laughed)

She has NO concept of what elementary school is. I love her. The tour was very parent oriented (I'm assuming some were trying to decide if they wanted to do public or private) and very thorough. :) We were able to see most of the kinder classrooms and I must admit it made me REALLY miss teaching. Reese loved seeing the learning centers and all the fun things on the wall. The library is just too cute and the school is very nice. I'm very excited for her. At the end of the tour we were asked if we had any questions. One family did and as we were leaving I noticed sweet Reese holding her hand up waiting to be called on. ha! I let her ask her question. She wanted to know why we didn't see the science room. Of course she did, my animal lover. But it was outside in a portable so it wasn't on the list. When we got home I noticed she was grabbing and setting her bedroom up and had her high heels on. A minute later I see this. She was playing school.

Oh happy day. She's excited.

Brown Bag and Easter

We went to a KSBJ Brown Bag concert in Tomball. The music was really great but the best part was watching all the kids dance and sing to praise music.

Reese got really into it and was singing to Jesus. I just love her sweet little heart!

We made Resurrection Rolls for breakfast and celebrated the empty tomb!

We did Resurrection Eggs to discuss the Easter Story. We did Easter baskets. The girls got one toy, one devotional book. Reese was pretty excited because it was a "real bible" without pictures like an "adult" .

And hunted a few eggs...

But mostly we celebrated the fact that Jesus Lives!
