Saige looks very very big here. Her hair is finally growing and getting longer. I noticed that her face is starting to look slimmer too. Can I cry for a bit please? I totally don't have babies anymore. Booooooo!

Santa

Reese came into our room at about 6:50. She climbed in bed and sat very quietly. Then she said "I wonder if Santa came?" I said we'd go look in a bit. She was totally fine with waiting...basicly she still doesn't 100% get it. We talked a little more and I said "what do you want him to bring you" and she said "I'd like an Ariel side and Santa said he'd do his best." We started laughing!! I guess this is what she told him when she sat on his lap.

We finally woke Saige up and had saw what he brought them.

Christmas Eve

Reese woke up on Christmas eve almost bursting with excitement. I don't blame her. It is a fun day. I remember being a child and waiting ALLLLLLLLLLLL day to go to my Memaw's house. It was just torture. We finally got dressed and went to church with Kara. Mark Ballas (from dancing with the stars) sang Oh Holy Night and we got to see a beautiful progressive painting done. I seriously wanted to keep the painting. Reese wasn't able to go to child care since she was 4. She has never sat through a church service and did great. She got very wiggly and Kara got out a marker and paper. She started drawing baby Jesus so fast that Kara and I got tickled. Her picture was then joined by all the people (Mary, Joesph, Angel's, animals, Shepperd's and wise men). Precious!

Saige got to open the first gift. She got a baby that talked NONstop! I mean, that thing wouldn't stop all the way home. But we found the off button :)

Reese opened a gift next and was so excited but when it was a dress up skirt she blurted out "I wanted a toy!" Now, this girl lives in costumes 24/7 so I don't know what the deal was but I almost died. I pulled her in the hallway and we had a little chat. She has since worn and enjoyed the shirt.

I took the girls to get Santa pictures today. While we were at the mall we got Reese some SUPER fancy boots, ate at California Pizza Kitchen, the girls had a cookie and then we let them get their nails done. They thought it was the best thing ever. The sweet nail ladies painted snowflakes on their thumbs.

Saige HAD to have pink. Everything lately has to be pink. I was even wearing a pink shirt yesterday and she walked up to me and said "Oh no, I like pink. Take that off" News flash Saige, you do not own the color pink. hahaha.

true friends are hard to come by

Once a year I get to meet up with some of my oldest friends for a playdate. One friend and her sweet sister have moved to different states and the other two live in P-town :) It is so fun to see them, catch up and see all of our children together. It always makes me laugh to think back to memories of us at age 12...or 21 :) and now we are in our 30s with kids!!!!! It is hard to find true friends and even harder to keep them for as many years as we have been in touch. I hope my girls are lucky enough to have friends like these girls.

Gloria

Reese loves dressing up. Lately as we have talked about, read books about, and gone to a few shows/nativity scenes she has been dressing up as Mary.


I caught her one day with baby Jesus in a bucket surrounded by a pink monkey, a large reindeer and a bear. :) She was singing Silent Night about as loud as she could get. Totally and completely precious.

Another day she ran up to Aaron and said "Joesph a child is going to be born to you named Jesus" and ran off. We burst into laughter.

She also pretended to be an angel yesterday and sang "Gloriaaaaaaaaaaaaa"




It makes me heart burst with happiness to see her pretending about her Lord and Savior.

Wrapping Paper

We decorated plain brown paper today with our hands and cookie cutters. I love the ones we made look like trees. We met some friends at the park and played, did this and then ate lunch. I did the others at home. The kids were more interested in playing at the park and I don't blame them. We hadn't had the pleasure of playing with our friends in a while. Reese's is the green tree and Saige's is the pink tree. She wouldn't have it any other way. EVERYTHING has to be pink these days with her. I like the look of the brown paper though. I may go back and get more and just do this for our gifts this year.

School Christmas Party

The girls had their Christmas party at school yesterday. All the kids went to the main area and sang song and got to visit Santa. Saige's teachers were warned about her hatred towards Santa but surprise surprise she did pretty good (although she was being held the whole time!)

Reese's class played Christmas BINGO and decorated cookie. Saige's class ate pizza and decorated cookies. I was running back and forth like a wild women trying to be apart of both girls parties. I think next year I'm going to need Daddy's help! But Saige's class was SO quiet. The kids didn't say one word. Their teachers said that is how the class is all the time! All the moms were wondering why they aren't this quiet at home!

I also have two little gifts from the girls that they made. I started to open the one from Reese and she yelled "Don't PEEK!" So I guess I'll wait until Christmas!

Christmas at Cornerstone

The girls had Christmas at Cornerstone again this year. There were cards, necklaces, ornaments all homemade by the kids. The girls also got to decorate cookies. Saige was so excited to see her teachers but then we she actually saw them she didn't say a peep. LOL!!
