(NO) snow day

Well we ended up with some cold weather. Icy and the threat of snow will shut Houston down! I'm not complaining though. We aren't used to it and no one can drive in it. And the wimps up north do the same thing when they get our heat and humidity.

 

Anyway, We woke up to NO school! Woo-hoo! Kids were so excited! But they went outside to see the "snow" and didn't find any. I told them to get dressed and jump on the trampoline. They LOVED it! Reese said "this is the best ice day ever!!!" The ice broke up and they played (for about 10 minutes and said it was too cold!) Apparently we will have to make it up another day but whatever. We are hanging out in our jammies and I'm on cup #3! Love being home!

Giggles

Girls totally have this new thing they do. Constant out of control giggling. It gets loud and silly. Nothing will even happen and they just BURST into laughter. I caught one of their silly sessions. I make them sit in the third row sometimes because it gets a little wild.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And this is just sweet! Reese told us her goal is to read to her family every night. Here she is reading with Saige. Love them!

New (old) School

There are so many reasons we decided to make the kids switch schools in the middle of the year. It was a very hard decision filled with some sleepless nights, tummy aches (mine) and a few tears (all of us). But we had to do what was best for everyone and being with me at my school wasn't it anymore. It was especially hard for me because I didn't get to take them, I didn't know who their teachers were. I still haven't met them face to face. :( But Aaron handled it all! Go dad!!

The girls were put into a class with a few cheerleader friends and a few other familiar faces. They come to and from school with a sweet neighbor and everyone has settled into the new routine. I leave school now as soon as the bell rings. I can let the girls sleep in a bit longer each morning and they don't have to sit in my classroom with me after school anymore.

Saige comes home every day telling me how much she enjoys school. Reese was a little quieter about it all at first but now seems to like it as well.

The picture is from their first day. All in all it was the right decision and it feels like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
