New school New year

We made the decision to move the girls preschool for this year. No big reason except I was hoping for something closer. I toured a few and found one that I liked. I put Reese in the "bridge" classroom where the kids are about her age and will be doing more kindergarten readiness. I was assured the classroom is still fun and no pressure. I almost had buyers remorse a few times and almost wanted to switch back to our other (loved) school. But I went through with it. We went to meet the teacher and I had such a peace about it. The school is so Christ centered, small, and loving. I am so pleased with our decision-so far any way!

Here are the girls on the first day of school. They are SOOOO sweet and both choose their clothes, shoes (socks!!) and hair. I have some very opinionated girls. Love them!!

When I picked them up on the first day I was able to hear all about their day. Reese played Rapunzel with two girls and a boy and Saige played babies with her friend Reagan. They acted like they had been there a million times before. :)

But since the school gets out at 2 instead of 1 like their other one we aren't getting a nap...AT ALL! It made for a long afternoon evening. I know the transition will be rough at first. I had some tired princesses come bed time!

Saige's Night Out

Reese was invited to a super cool big girl "back to school party." While she was there having a fun me and a few friends took the little sister's to get their toes done, eat some pizza, and get ice cream. They had so much fun! It was adorable to see how much fun they had and watching them play like big girls!

Ballet for Saige!

When Reese did ballet last year little Saige would stand in the bench and stare into the window. You could see it in her eyes she wanted to do it too! Many days she would also lay on the floor and watch through the crack. Saige would jump in line to get a sticker and often would practice her shuffle step at home. Precious!

The days leading up to ballet she has worn her hair in a bun ALL day long. She would carry her dance bag around and pretended to do ballet.

Well her day finally arrived. I don't know if I've ever seen Saige more proud or more excited. She was thrilled to finally be in ballet. We put her hair in piggy buns. She looked so cute!!!!

She did exactly what her teacher asked her! Reese loved watching Saige through the window too.

My little artist

Saige has started coloring lately. She has never had ANY interest before, unless you count eating crayons. This was a picture she colored. I was pretty impressed that she colored Ariel the correct colors in the correct spots. Go Saige!

This was a tiger that Reese drew the other day. She didn't finish the background and for some reason didn't want to but check out those stripes!

Ott's birthday

July 30th we celebrated Ott's birthday (my step mom Donna). This was a pretty special birthday too! She has been fighting cancer since 2004 (I think?). We are so forever thankful that we get this chance to watch her blow out more candles! She is such a fighter! Here's to many more birthdays!
We love you Ott!

And here is one of Reese and my dad. She climbed up into his lap and showed him how to play angry birds on my phone. Precious.

Slumber Party at Nana's

Nana wanted the girls to try and sleep over at her house. I was a little nervous about Saige going because she doesn't sleep well at other places. When we went to Moody Gardens with our friends she was up all night. My mom swears she sleeps at her house and they stay over so often I assume she does. But she always comes home a little tired so who knows how well she's really sleeping. But Nana wanted to try so I let her go. The girls were very excited. They packed their backpacks full of things they need. On the way over Saige held her (new) backpack the entire way. She was gleaming!

When I got there the girls were bouncing off the walls talking 90 to nothing. Reese asked me when I was leaving. I was feeling the love! Saige quickly got her things out and laid her little pillow on Nana's bed. Later I found out that they stayed up til 11 playing with their cousins. Nana and Kammy said Saige didn't sleep much. Kammy said she told Saige to zip it at one point. haha! I bet everyone was pretty tired. The girls had a wonderful time.

Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad HEAT!

It has been HOT! Apparently this is one of the worst droughts in history. It never rains and the forecast is always sunny and hot. It doesn't get dark til 8 and by then we're ready for bed. It's almost too hot to even swim-almost! So this is how we have spent some of these horrible hot days. (Can you tell I'm ready for fall and winter!?!?!)

Indoor play areas. Enough said!

I've stooped to letting them play in my make-up. Yes, it's messy. Yes, it keeps them busy.

COUNTLESS hours of pretend play. The girls have always loved playing together but Saige has started pretending more and they just have a blast (when they aren't arguing LOL)

And my personal favorite...letting the girls ride their bikes and scooters inside. One winter it was too cold (for us) to go outside so I taught Reese to peddle inside. She rode her little bike round and round the kitchen and hallway. Well, if it's good enough for the winter cold, it's good enough for Texas heat. They had a ball, got some energy out and everyone was happy.

We are ready for this nasty heat to END or some rain????
