LONGEST post ever! These are the pictures Aimee took of my girls!

Sweet Saige

Sweet Reese

Quotes

Last night I was telling Saige that Santa was coming to her school tomorrow. She shook her head no and said I don't want to see him. I assured her that she didn't have to see him.

me: You can sit with mommy
Saige: Will you take me into the classroom
me: Yes I can do that
Saige: (with wide eyes) Will you lock it so he can't get it.

hahahhahaa

Tonight Reese ran up to Aaron and said "I'm an angel and I have good news Joseph! A gift of a baby is coming!"

hahaha...guess she is getting it.

Learning Letters!

We started teaching Saige her letters and she has really taken to it. She is SO proud of herself when she sees a letter she knows. She knows S,R,B,H and this week we're learning T. If she sees an "S" in a word she will say "Mommy that is my name." When I ask her what a S says she will go "b, b, b SAIGE" LOL She thinks every letter says "b" I can't believe how big my baby girl is getting. Sniff sniff...

It Aint Happening

Saige is not handling Christmas well. She does not like Santa at all. She saw him at a free event at a library and flipped out. Then yesterday, we went to a little Christmas/Birthday party. As soon as Santa walked into the backyard she dropped her juice box and ran to me with great fear. She held onto me so tightly. Bless her heart. She wouldn't even walk past him. Reese did sit on his lap though. She loves him! (If you look closely Saige is in the back with Aunt KK)

At the party there was also a 4ft snowman that played music and danced when you walked past him. She was also afraid of that and would not go in the house for anything. She would cry and say "the snowman is going to dance."

Then there was a pony, a very sweet, small pony. Saige would not even pet the pony. But Reese loved her. When we left Saige said "that was a fun birfday mommy." haha

Tis the Season! :)

Jesse Tree

We have started the Jesse Tree. It hasn't gone as smoothly as I wanted :) But I have to remember that the girls are still really little. We are trying to make it as fun as possible. Saige is very wiggily during our bible time but she is getting better. Reese is listening and getting as much from it as her little four year old self can.

Here is the tree though. We painted it brown and then I put the girls hand prints on the tree and green dots are their finger prints.

I couldn't think of where I wanted to put the tree and pot because it was breakable and the stick is pretty dry. I could see the girls taking off with ornaments and breaking sticks. But I found the perfect spot. Here are my silly girls waiting to do our bible readings with our "perfect spot."

Pretend at Christms Time

Reese always loves to pretend. She will be animals and princess's mostly but is in full pretend mode most of the time. We went to see Tangled and as soon as she got home she tore her room apart looking for something that (to her) looked like Rapunzel's dress. She came out with a light pink and purple pj set and found a pizza pan (plastic from her kitchen set) and was trying to hit us (again pretending) with it all day. She was mostly after poor Daddy since Rapunzel was hitting her prince, as Reese would say. We finally had to take it from her for safety reasons. HA!

We watched The Grinch on TV the other day. I thought it was a cute movie and some of the not-so-nice language went over their heads. But Reese clearly did not get the theme of the movie, you know, how the Grinch's heart grew three sizes and how he saved Christmas. Well, my sweet pretending daughter decided to BE the Grinch. I should of taken a picture because the faces she was making (thank you Jim Cary) were priceless. But what wasn't was when she got a bunch of toys and put them on our ottoman and started screaming "I hate Christmas" all while throwing toys. We had a nice long chat after that and so far the Grinch hasn't come back! We won't be watching that one again-for a long long time, if ever!

Then we have talked A LOT about what Christmas is REALLY about and I'm proud to say that Reese will say Jesus birthday! She got a small basket, laid a red strawberry shortcake wig inside and found a tiny (and scary real-like) baby to lay inside. It was rather odd looking at first but then I realized that the wig was the straw...great imagination! But the best part was when she put a tutu on and found some long purple beads that wrapped around her arms funny. When she opened them she said it was her angel wings. She danced around her baby Jesus for a while. I'm sad I didn't get the camera out for that one!
