Saige's birthday Party

Saige is a lucky little lady. My dad and stepmom couldn't make her birthday party so they came and made their own party...lunch, cupcakes and of course presents. Saige got a fancy Ariel swimsuit, a fire truck (which she loves), flipflops, and a swimsuit cover up.

Today we had a "small" family party. We normally do parties big here but this year we wanted-needed something simple. We got pappasitos and had some balloons and a simple swing set for "entertainment". As soon as we got back with the cake and balloons Reese and Saige were beyond excited. Saige clapped her hands and screamed "Happy Birthday to me" and Reese took one look at the cake (Ariel) and sang "look at this stuff, isn't it neat. Wouldn't you think my collections complete"

It was a lot of fun. She got some cute clothes, books, dora flip flops, a new purse, feather boa, swimming pool, art easle, panties and a cool abc toy. When she saw her panties she wanted to put them on right away. And she carried her shoes and purse around the rest of the day.

Look who's potty training

The other day Saige got out of the bath and went potty on the floor (number one LOL) and it interested her and she said "I go tee tee" so I asked her to do again (more as a joke) and she did. So the following day I got out her potty seat. My mom was over here the following day she just put Saige on the potty and she went!!! Then I went out of town so I couldn't practice with her but my mom got her to go again and again. I started to think I better step up my game. I went ahead and started putting her on the potty. She goes ON COMMAND without M&M's or anything. Now she won't even go on the little potty chair but wants her potty seat on the big potty. She has started staying dryer longer and even told me tonight that she needed to go. I can't believe that I might actually be diaper free soon. (Another bitter sweet moment)!!

Love your neighbor

There is a veggie tale song about loving your neighbor. Reese has memorized the song and sings every word. Tonight we were talking about what loving a neighbor means. I explained that when we help people it makes them feel better and did a few simple examples. Then I had her list a few. She did great at first. She said if her friends fall down she will give them a bandaid and a hug. She said if a friend is sad she will share her toys. But then it got really interesting. She said if the lion needs help she'll help him walk, if the bear needs help swimming she take him, if the meerkat is sad she will read to him. Can you tell we like animals? :)

Blue

My sweet "baby" is about to have her 2nd birthday. Second birthdays are so much harder for me for some reason. Maybe because you can't say 28 months. Its just 2 years. Because they really stop looking like babies. They get long and lean and start talking-although we've been there for a LONG time. :) But its just sad. Its also fun but looking back makes me always cry. I'm so blessed to have such sweet girls. Thank you Lord!

Just born

A day in the bluebonnets...

My mom, sister and the girls planned a girly day in Chappel Hill. We woke up expecting blue skys and nice temps (the weather man said this!) but when we looked outside it was sprinkling...then raining! We kept going hoping it would clear up and it did. There was a ton of traffic on 290 and it took us twice as long to get there. When we did we had a blast though. There were booths of goodies everywhere. We ate sausage on a stick and snowcones. We saw lots of cute puppies and some old lady club tap dancing LOL! It was really fun. We of course stopped in the fields of bluebonnets on the way and took pictures. I couldn't get both girls to smile at me at the same time to save my life. We asked Saige to smile and she just said "NO" in this sassy, bratty way! But here they are anyway! Enjoy

Coming out of her shell

Reese has been this shy, quiet child. I used to wonder who in the world she would get that from...Oh yeah, her dad! LOL Hes the same way! I just assumed that any child of mine would be outgoing and loud (ie Saige?) but that wasn't the case. She has been the sweetest child ever. She never really went through a hitting, pushing, biting stage. I remember ONE time I had to force her to share because most of the time she just did it. She isn't perfect but has always had a sweet, QUIET disposition. But lately shes gotten mouthy. :)

The other day my mom and her went ot the park and there was some much older (8yrs??) boys on the slide and bridge and she told them to get off that it was her turn.

She has started talked to strangers and telling them just about anything. She'll walk right up and say "See my new dress" or whatever comes to mind.

The other day we were at a wedding shower for Julie (Reese is going to be her flower girl) I took to the restroom while Julie was opening gifts. WHile we were in there she said I'm going to tell Julie about the mole rat at the zoo (this ugly ugly creation scared her to the point of tears...google it and you'll see why). But I assumed she would tell her at another time. Nope she walked RIGHT up to her in the middle of the shower (QUIET) and said "I went to the zoo" I don't think Julie knew what to say.

Shes still sweet and has a very girly sweet personality but I guess shes coming out of her shell a little and letting people know what she thinks!

Saige's new purse and shoes

Saige and I had a wonderful day (the other day). We ran through starbucks and got a yummy drink (that we shared) and then hit the shoe store. I use to buy Reese more expensive shoes at places like stridrite (outlet but still) and robeeze but now that I have two girls whos feet seems to grow nonstop we hit payless bogo sale! And to my surprise got some CUTE shoes. Saige LOVES shoes of any kind but really likes flip flops. She didn't have any so she got a pair (and Reese got 3 pairs) but she also got this little black purse. She thinks she is hot stuff carrying it around with her flip flops. It takes us about three times as long to make it into a store (or out of the house) because the flip flops fall off and the purse needs "stuff" in it but how can I say no?!

And the one of her laying on my chest is seriously her most favorite place to be. She loves to snuggle with me.

Have I mentioned how much I love these girls? They are the best!
