Mother's Day

Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day
With little time to stop and pray
For life's been anything but calm
...
Since You called on me to be a mom
Running errands, matching socks
Building dreams with building blocks
Cooking, cleaning, and finding shoes
And other stuff that children lose
Fitting lids on bottled bugs
Wiping tears and giving hugs
A stack of last weeks mail to read
So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet when I steal a minute, Lord
Just at the sink or ironing board
To ask the blessings of Your grace
I see then, in my small one's face
That you have blessed me
All the while
And I stop to kiss
That precious smile"

We had a lovely mother's day this year. The girls school did a mothers day tea for us to enjoy. I got sweet little homemade gifts from both girls. I love this sort of stuff so much. It's true treasures worth keeping. I'm thinking of framing them.

Saige drew this!!! She doesn't ever really "draw" things yet but apparently she did at school. It looks great. I love it and I'm so proud of her!

This is the SWEETEST bag ever! Her hands, footprints and that little bee is her finger! I'm thinking this needs to be framed somehow because I don't want to use it and risk messing it up. Precious!!

Sweet Reese made a card with her OWN writing (and spelling). I could actually make out most of the answers. Blo= blue, slet= salad etc. I love seeing her try and make out the sounds of words. And that sweet drawing of me is the cutest.

I'm not sure this could capture my child any better. Dressed like an animal :)

Then my sweet, hard working, hubby gave me some flowers, a card and a travel coffee mug (Praise God!) I've been wanting one for a while now.
Then my mom, sister and the girls went down to Moody Gardens to spend the night for Mother's Day and Kara's birthday. We woke up early and got going. We laid y the pool all day. It was heaven. We never even made it to their palm beach with all the busy fun stuff. We had so much fun just hanging out by the pool.
How do 4 people need this much for ONE night?? hahaha....

Later when we decided we had had enough sun we went up to the hotel to get ready for dinner. We chose the historical Gaido's. While we were waiting for our table to be set up we looked around the (very small, crowded) gift shop. Saige had on a fluffy dress and when she turned her dress caught the end of a piece of coral and it fell from the (low) shelf and broke into two pieces. Oops. The lady behind the counter wanted us to pay for it but thankfully the (very busy) manager didn't. Poor Saige was a little nervous about the whole thing. After a great dinner we went to the strand to walk around.
We had a yummy breakfast and headed home. It was a great day! I love being able to share these moments with loved ones but most thankful for these two sweet children the Lord has blessed me with.
